Cake-A-Boo all started as a dare…

Every summer I would go and visit my Grandmother in Parsons, KS- if you’ve never been there you wouldn’t have a clue where it was- it only had 1 grocery store and a Walmart, whew lol. I anticipated going every summer because I enjoyed cooking and especially baking with my Nannie! For years I always got a kick out of baking goodies for everyone’s birthday.

Cake-A-Boo came about when my 3-year old nephew wanted a Spiderman cake for his birthday and I agreed to make it, even though I had no clue where to start. He wanted it and I was going to make it. My Debbie Doubter of a niece belted- “you don’t know how to do that.” From that point on, I researched how to make a decorated cake- stayed up all night and Killed it! It was a hit and everyone at the party loved it and the rest is history!

Making cakes started as a side business while working in the mortgage industry for the last 23 years. I started making celebration cakes, for any event you can think of, 13 years ago and quickly realized that this is my real passion. I eventually decided to go for my Dreams and open up our Bakery, I look forward to what the future has to bring.
